TakoRos was built by people who spent years supplying restaurants across Mauritius — and watched them struggle with software that was never designed for them.
The story
SNL has been supplying restaurants across Mauritius for years. That means we've been inside hundreds of kitchens, sat across from restaurant owners, and watched how they actually run their operations.
What we saw was consistent. Paper tickets getting lost between the counter and the kitchen. Online orders arriving on WhatsApp and getting manually typed into a POS. Cashiers shouting across a busy lunch service. Owners with no idea how the day performed until they manually counted the till at closing.
The software options available were either too expensive, too complex, or built for markets that have nothing in common with a restaurant in Mauritius. MRA VAT compliance was an afterthought. Local hardware support didn't exist. And the price — often €60 to €100 per month before add-ons — was simply out of reach for an independent restaurant owner running a tight operation.
So we built TakoRos. Not as a side project. As the software we wished existed when we were watching restaurant owners struggle with systems that weren't made for them.
The first version ran in a real restaurant — Ina Foods Ltd — before it was available to anyone else. Every feature was tested in a real service environment, with real staff, real orders, and real kitchen pressure. That discipline shapes how we still build today.

Lets customers browse and order themselves on a tablet stand. Orders go directly to TakoPOS and TakoKDS.
The mission

Independent restaurants operate on tight margins, small teams, and long hours. The software they use should reduce the load — not add to it. It should start free, work offline, understand local compliance requirements, and grow with the restaurant rather than billing them for features they don't need yet.
